I am pleased to announce a minor update to ChronoWall.

Facebook recently started using HTTPS for downloading profile images. Since ChronoWall wasn't designed for this, it was causing crashes for several users. This has been fixed in this latest update.

In addition, some people were unable to use the fade feature when first booting into Windows after the last 1.50 update - this is due Direct3D not being detectable by ChronoWall soon after Windows starts. To address this, ChronoWall will detect Direct3D compatibility up to five times every time the wallpaper changes if it hasn't already detected that the machine it is running on is Direct3D-compatible.

Please let me know if you are still having this issue after this update.

The full changelog is below:

Support HTTPS for downloading Facebook profile pictures

Keep detecting Direct3D compatibility (up to 5 times) for every wallpaper change if Direct3D compatibility has not already been established.

You can download the latest version at http://chronowall.co/downloads.php

To upgrade, first exit ChronoWall and install the new version over the existing one. You do not need to uninstall the old version. If you are unable to upgrade due to the file 'DesktopTransition.dll' (or 'DesktopTransition64.dll') being locked, log off and log back on and try the installation again.

Enjoy the fixes in this latest release! :)
